Blaise Brucato
Founder of Thoroughbred Handicapping Experts
Blaise Brucato is a nationally recognized handicapping tournament competitor and lifelong participant in Thoroughbred racing. He has qualified for and competed in the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship multiple times, earning entry through on-track and online tournament victories, and has participated in, and won, major events at venues such as Keeneland and the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge.
Beyond tournament play, Blaise has spent decades immersed in the sport in roles ranging from groom and assistant trainer to jockey's agent and owner, giving him a rare, comprehensive understanding of the racing industry.
He also served for more than a decade as a chart caller for Equibase, preparing the detailed race comments and trip notes relied upon by handicappers nationwide. Through T.H.E. — Thoroughbred Handicapping Experts — he combines competitive experience, analytical discipline, and deep industry knowledge to help players approach racing with clarity, structure, and confidence.
Paul Weizer
Board of Directors & Racing Analyst
Nominated in 2026 for induction into the National Horseplayers Hall of Fame, Paul Weizer has been a dominant force in tournament handicapping for over a decade. He has been a member of the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) Tour since 2008, and through 2025, has qualified for the NHC 19 times, with 2026 marking his 20th qualification.
He finished 18th in the 2016 NHC and has earned first- or second-place finishes in many of the sport's most prestigious handicapping contests, including the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge, Wynn Las Vegas Handicapping Challenge, Belmont Stakes Contest, Keeneland Grade One Gamble, and Keeneland Fall Challenge — accumulating more than $500,000 in contest prizes.
Outside of tournament competition, Paul has owned, bred, and raced horses across multiple jurisdictions. He has served as an NHC Mentor since 2018 and has been a member of the NHC Players' Committee since 2022. His experience reflects both competitive excellence and a deep commitment to the horseplaying community.
